Abstract

Quality of Service (QoS) is a vital feature of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). Efficient energy utilization has been a primary concern in choosing routes from primary and secondary caches. Because of frequent movement of nodes energy consumption in MANET becomes a need. Generally failures of a route happen during the data transmission. Break age of routes leads to greater delay and increased delay. So there is an essential for a cost effective procedure for data communication. This paper proposes an Efficient Source Initiated Multipath Protocol based on Dynamic Routing Protocol (DSR) Protocol (ESIM-DSR). NS-2 is used for simulating the results. The observations show that ESIM-DSR has higher efficient transmission energy and residual energy routes than classical DSR protocol. Thus performance of ESIM-DSR is better than DSR in terms of packet delivery. © 2016 IEEE.
