Abstract

In this present research work, humidity sensing performance of transition metal dichalcogenide, tantalum disulfide (TaS2) was studied. TaS2 was characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. For the humidity sensing studies, TaS2 in the pellet form was subjected to humidity sensing studies. Sensing performance of the 2D material TaS2 was found to be 88% with a quick response and recovery time of 49 and 75 s respectively. It also exhibited a good real sensitivity, limit of detection (LOD), linearity, hysteresis also with a stable sensing stability recorded over a period of two months. © 2020 IEEE.
