Abstract

The combination of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) now revolutionizes modern manufacturing, making it more intelligent, making decisions, and optimal processes. This paper examines how IIoT, AI, and ML can be used to achieve better efficiency and quality control in manufacturing. The key performance indicators under analysis are Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), energy used, defects, output of production, and expenses on maintenance. The approach to the research included an implementation of HoT sensors and AI-based data analytics and ML-based automated control systems during a one-year production cycle. These outcomes indicate significant gains, such as the increase in OEE, the decrease in defects, optimal use of energy, and decreased cost of maintenance. These results reveal the major opportunities of IIoT, AI, and ML adoption in the manufacturing sector improvement, product quality improvement, and lower cost of operation. The paper lays emphasis on the importance of embracing smart technologies to realize progressive and outcome-based production processes.
