| Abstract |
The development of a Quadrifilar Helix (QFH) antenna for real-time weather data acquisition from Meteor-M satellites is a challenging area in the satellite industry. Design and Performance of a Quadrifilar Helix (QFH) Antenna for Meteor-M 2-3 LRPT Reception at 1 3 7. 9 MHz is presented in this paper. The Quadrifilar Helix (QFH) antenna optimized for receiving the Low-Resolution Picture Transmission (LRPT) signal from the Meteor-M 2-3 and Meteor-M 2-4 polar orbiting weather satellite is discussed. The system operates at the satellite's primary downlink frequency of 137.9 MHz in the VHF band. The QFH antenna is designed to efficiently receive the satellite's Right Hand Circularly Polarized (RHCP) signal. For the signal reception software defined radio, RTL-SDR is used with software such as SDR++, Sat dump to process satellite signals. |
