Abstract

In the present investigation the dry sliding wear behaviour of aluminium alloys reinforcing with varying in percentage (wt) of beryl particles. wear tests were conducted on samples using pin-on-disc wear testing machine for varying load, sliding distance and Wt % of beryl. The design of experiment approach was employed to acquire data in controlled way using Taguchi technique and variance technique (analysis) were employed to optimize the rate of wear and microstructures of Al-beryl composites. A new mathematical model was obtained to determine the wear rate and microstructure of Al-beryl composites. To confirm the experimental results confirmation tests were conducted. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd.
