Abstract

Data transmission is one of the important communication method used these days. The data's like image and video were also transmitted in the form of signal. Because of limited channel bandwidth the data has to be compressed but due to which the quality of the image was reduced. Wavelet transform has been used widely in the signal processing. DWT has been developed as a compression technique which provides better compression ratio. Here a CDF 5/3 DWT compression technique is used for the compression of video which has better compression ratio without the loss of quality of the video. The video has been rDeconstructed using the IDWT technique. The PSNR and MSE are also measured here. The video compression is implemented using MATLAB Simulink and simulation results are seen using Cadence/Xilinx. © 2016 IEEE.
