| Abstract |
This paper presents the design and development of a Women and Child Safety Device based on ESP32-C3 microcontroller integrated with Free RTOS to run efficient real time task management. The system has the A9G module built in to give GPS-based location tracking and GSM enabled SMS alerts to communicate with the people in case of an emergency. Upon activation of the SOS button, the device will send the user's real-time location coordinates as well as a predefined distress message to already registered emergency contacts. In addition to manual triggering, the system is equipped with a Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensor that is used to monitor stress levels and enable automatic emergency alert if abnormal physiological conditions are detected. An on-board buzzer gives immediate sound alerts in critical situations. The device is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) battery so that it is portable and requires little power for continuous operation. The firmware is created with the help of Platform IO and ESP-IDF framework to ensure reliable embedded performance. Cloud-based data storage and monitoring are put in place with the help of Firebase to ensure that data alerts and location are synchronized in real-time. A dedicated mobile application built on MIT App Inventor is used to facilitate user interaction, remote monitoring and co-ordination of emergencies. |
